The vocation of Dominican nun is the vocation to the contemplative life. Its goal is the growth in perfect love and the cognition of Truth. This growth is also connected with integral human and personal development. The formation in community as in the school of love proceeds in several degrees which are to prepare sisters for the total consecration to God. The first introductory degree is postulate which lasts six months. At the beginning of novitiate a sister accept the habit of the Order and white veil. This period of preparation for vows lasts two years. TheFirst profession is taken on from four to six years. It represents the continuation of the baptism and the sisters consecrate themselves to God with intention “to follow Christ and live according to the Gospel”. Then they confirm this temporal obligation by the solemn profession by which they consecrate themselves to God in the Order “till the death”.
